This is a very attractive ammonite. It is a distinct Cleoniceras cleon from the Cretaceous of Madagascar. This ammonite has been cut in half and both halves have been highly polished. The coiling pattern of the mollusk is easily seen, and the individual chambers are wonderfully defined. The many chambers are easily seen - most are hollow and filled with crystals, making for a beautiful display. This is a cool specimen of a split ammonite from Madagascar.
