This is a fossil you often hear about, but rarely ever see. It is an excellent Fossil Frog from China. This specimen is complete and very well articulated. The bone detail is awesome - each bone is easily seen under magnification. The frog even has the skin and muscles preserved - the outline of the actual frog is well defined. And there is absolutely no restoration to this specimen whatsoever - the frog is in rare pristine condition, for China. But the truly amazing feature of this fossil frog is that it still has the "tadpole tail" intact! Only VERY RARELY in the fossil record has a fossil frog ever been found in this transitional stage. Not only is this an almost one-of-a-kind find, the specimen is fabulous. This is a very exciting specimen for the fossil collection that has everything.
