Here is a great Ice Age fossil. It is a complete paw from the extinct Russian Cave Bear, Ursus uralensis. Cave Bears were the chief animal hunted by Neanderthal man. Cave Bear material is becoming more difficult to obtain as most of the caves have been discovered and collected out. This is a large right rear paw with all the digits and claws intact. The bones have been internally wired together for strength and stability. This is a very displayable specimen from this extinct Ice Age Bear. What a conversation piece!
