Here is an interesting fossil from the Miocene of France. This is a double example of Turritella sp., a high-spired gastropod. These distinct gastropods are quite 3-dimensional and exhibit wonderful detail. The fine ornamentation of the fossils is clearly defined. The snails have great color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the thick block of sandstone matrix. There is even a worm boring in the larger shell (rare). This is a very displayable pair of classic Miocene gastropods from France.
