This is an unusual echinoderm fossil. It is a large Edriophus bigsbyi, an edrioasteroid, from Ontario, Canada. This specimen is inflated and exhibits great detail. The five, slightly curving ambulacra are nicely displayed. The interambulacra areas are easily seen, and the overall plate structure of this edrioasteroid is quite nice. The cream-colored fossil contrasts well with the grey matrix. The edrio is beautifully centered on the squared block of limestone. This is a fine, large specimen of this primitive echinoderm from the Ordovician of Canada.
