This is a very impressive vertebrate fossil. It is a large Cave Bear (Ursus spelaeus) jaw from the Carpath Mountains of Romania. This distinct jaw is nicely intact and incredibly well preserved. The large canine and four other teeth are wonderfully showcased - the teeth are firmly embedded in the solid jawbone. The teeth are very worn from use, which is quite interesting. The large jaw simply displays beautifully. This is a fabulous Ice Age fossil from an extinct Eastern European Cave Bear.
