Here is a cool grouping of fossils with a story. These are three Bison Bones from the Ice Age of Alaska. These fossils were acquired from the Richard Busch Collection. Busch was the Preparator/Asst. Curator at the North Museum in Lancaster, PA from 1965-1992. These fossils were once part of a museum display. The story of the fossils is still intact, on the paper that was also once part of the display. The story says in 1956, a grad student associated with the North Museum went to Alaska to study the placer gold deposits. Occasionally, Ice Age fossils were found while mining for the gold. The student then sent these fossils (and others) back to the Museum for display. There are two really nice vertebrae and a huge femur end from this collection. This is very distinct grouping of fossil Bison Bones with story, found 60 years ago, from the Busch Collection.
