This is an EXTREMELY RARE fossil association. It is a Bird Feather and MANY other fossils from the Green River Formation. Occasionally, complete leaves were fossilized in the Green River Formation. But a plate with THREE DIFFERENT leaves, THREE insects, and a bird feather is almost unheard of. The feather is large, quite distinct, and has extremely fine detail preserved. The beetle has its distinct wing covers preserved (and there are even two mosquitoes fossilized right next to the beetle!). The leaves are also extremely detailed and have great color and contrast preserved. All of the fossils are well showcased on the large plate of shale that also has other fossils preserved on the plate. This is a very rare and super collectible association of three different leaves, two different insects, and a bird feather fossilized together forever.
