This is a very rare fossil of a Branchiosaurus amphibian skeleton from the Lower Permian in Germany. The pit that this fossil came from was closed in 1984, so specimens like this have to now be acquired from old collections. The skull, backbone, limbs, and tail are very easily seen, which is quite unusual. The amphibian is well showcased on the large, natural plate of shale. This is a very collectible example of a Branchiosaurus amphibian skeleton.
