This is an extremely uncommon fossil. It is an excellent specimen of Plumulites sp., a Machaeridian, from the Ordovician of Africa. This large armor-plated worm is complete and very well displayed. The striking specimen exhibits wonderful detail - the feather-like structure of the individual sclerites is well defined. The distinct worm has great natural color and wonderful contrast and is beautifully showcased on the large, natural plate of sandstone. This is a very impressive and collectible specimen of this very unusual fossil worm.
