Here is a very displayable plate of brachiopods from the Devonian of Ohio. There are four beautiful examples of Paraspirifer bownockeri on this slab of shale. Each brachiopod has both valves present and tightly articulated. The brachs are extremely 3-dimensional and exhibit fine detail - the radial ornamentation of the robust brachiopods is clearly seen. The dark fossils contrast nicely with the light gray matrix. This is a wonderful plate of brachiopods from the Midwestern United States.
