Here is a very nice ammonite from the Jurassic of Northern Russia. This type of ammonite has a very rounded keel and extremely strong ribs that split near the shoulder of the shell. This specimen is extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The bifurcating ribs are easily seen. Even the small, inner whorls of the ammonite are well displayed. The ammonite is wonderfully perched on the natural block of matrix. This is an excellent example of Pavlovia from the Jurassic of Russia.
