This is one of the harder insects to find in the fossil record. It is an extinct Bee from the Green River Formation of Utah. True Bees are very hard to find preserved in amber, and almost unheard of preserved in shale. This specimen has great detail, and even has the wings intact and spread open! The large Bee is nicely centered on the natural matrix plate. There are also other insects preserved on the plate. This is an extremely collectible fossil Bee - a true rarity.
