Here is a very aesthetic plate of brachiopods. These are Lepidocyclus capax from the Ordovician of Indiana. There are three extremely robust specimens on the plate. Both valves are present on each of the brachiopods. The coarse radial ornamentation is well defined and the fine growth lines are easily seen. The brachiopods have great color and contrast. They are nicely positioned on the natural plate of shale. This is a fine multiple plate of brachiopods from Indiana.
